CUTTLEBUG OWNERS PLEASE READ!

If you own a Cuttlebug or have owned one in the past, please please please share your knowledge with me.

I wasn't planning on purchasing a Cuttlebug just yet, but I received an e-mail from Michael's saying that it will be on sale this Friday only for 50% off, which means I would get it for $45 rather than $90. I am seriously considering purchasing one, and have read many reviews online, however I would like as many of your opinions as possible.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, whether they're reviews, pros/cons, tips, tricks, ANYTHING. From research I've learned that Cuttlebugs are great for embossing, but how well do their die cuts work? And if possible, I'm looking for an explanation on how exactly using die cuts with a Cuttlebug works (where they go in the machine, how they turn out, etc).

Thank you in advance for your help, it is greatly appreciated! :)

Ashley

  1. I love my Cuttlebug! I have only used it for embossing but for $45 it's well worth it just for that!

  4. I have both the CB and the Big Shot. The day I used the big shot I had to have it! I got my BS through Joann's on sale for $59 with free shipping. I believe that sale is still going on now. What I like about it is that it can handle big dies for cutting and you can use all embossing folders out there. Which ever one you get, you will love it! Email me if you have any other questions! I could go on forever on this topic :) encarnacion.maribel (at) gmail (dot) com

  5. If you hope to use other dies (besides Provocrafts) go with the Big Shot! I broke my Cuttlebug trying to use other dies. The BS is sturdier and cuts bigger dies!

  8. I love my Cuttlebug and it works great with many different dies. I use Sizzix, Spellbinders and Cuttlebug dies and the die cuts turn out perfect everytime. I've never had any problems with my Cuttlebug. I would highly recommend it.

  9. I love my cuttlebug, and use it mainly for embossing (which turns out great). I do have a few dies to cut, but because I have a cricut, I find myself never using it for that. It does cut very nice though. Never had a problem with this machine- Totally worth the $45.... :)Amy

  10. Hi, just wanted to say thank you for stopping by my blog! I love my Cuttlebug too! I've used it for embossing and diecuts and it's worked great. I've only used Cuttlebug and Fiskars embossing plates and both work awesome. I've used Cuttlebug and spellbinders diecuts and they work great too. you do have to purchase a C plate separate to use spellbinders and an embossing mat to do embossing with the spellbinders. The Fiskars plate are really nice because they are double sided and you get 6 in a pack which is 12 designs. Those were the first embossing plates I used. Some of them don't get as deep and the folders but they are still nice. Hope that helps. Oh yeah and I'm a new follower!

  11. Hi Ashlley! First I want to say thank you for the sweet comment and following me. Your valentine card is great.
Cuttlebug was my first toy. I love it. There are lots of different ways to use it. The layering is often times in the diecut directions. Just play that is the best way to learn. I will be back to see what you learn.
    Thanks again,
    Linda

  12. Hi Ashley, Thank you for stopping by and your for sweet comments! I am a new follower and excited to see all of your new creations! I do hope you purchase the cuttlebug! It is definitely a great craft tool to have. Very easy to use doesn't take up a lot of space and the embossing is AMAZING! I am a very frugal crafter, always waiting for the “after” sales, but my hubby bought this for me for Mother’s Day a while back at almost full price! (yikes, but so glad he did) So for $45 I would absolutely recommend this to you! You will love it!
    Good Luck and have fun!
