Christmas in July at Whimsical Designs!

Christmas in July is so fun to celebrate! It's been just long enough since Christmas to start thinking about Christmas again, even though it's still five months away. It'll be nice to see all the inspiration this month on different blogs to start getting some ideas for Christmas gifts and crafts!

To kick off the month, Whimsical Designs is having a Christmas challenge! Here's what I created for my DT project:

Now, I don't toot my own horn too often, but I am really proud of this tag! For one, it's not my usual style, and two, I love the way it came together. I started with Kraft cardstock and distressed it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, and Walnut Stain. Then, I used metallic gold embossing powder to give it the snowflake background (and now I really want metallic silver embossing powder!).

The tag is actually a cut from the Silhouette store, and the holly leaves came with it. I distressed those with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, and instead of using the berries that came with the cut, I used CANDi pieces and Aged Mahogany Distress Stickles to give the berries a 3D effect to match the leaves.

The pearls on the top of the tag are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies, and the ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam. I heat embossed the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment, which is from the Snow Much Fun stamp set by Whimsical Designs:

This week's challenge sponsor is The Robin's Nest, and one lucky winner will receive this fun, scrappy Christmas prize pack!

Hope to see you playing along! :)
