Fun with Create a Critter 2! :)

I am so excited to share with you the first card I made using the new Create a Critter 2 cartridge! It is for this week's Card Creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craft Room. :)

Create a Critter 2 was released by Provo Craft last Thursday (September 6th) but for some reason Joann's had them on their shelves a week early! I was so excited to hear it, and when I called my local Joann's to see if they had it in stock, I almost had a heart attack when they said it was there! I hung up the phone and got in the car to go pick it up. :) It was on sale for $34.99, and I don't normally pay that much for cartridges, but this one was so, so worth it.

The cartridge contains some of the favorites from the original CAC, along with a few new critters as well. This one is much more seasonal than CAC, and a lot of the critters have cute outfits/accessories that go along with the seasons. I just can't get enough of it! For my first card, I used my favorite critter... the penguin!

My 3D item is the flower/asterisk shape cut from the Artiste cartridge. For the center I cut an image from Elegant Edges (the same one that's behind the penguin, just smaller) and stamped it with a CTMH stamp that goes along with the Artiste cartridge. This is one of my favorite cards I've made!

Thinking of You at My Cricut Craft Room

We're thinking of you during today's Card Creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craft Room! The design team has created some wonderful 'thinking of you' cards to share with you, so make sure you stop by and take a peek!

My card was the first card I made using the brand-newArtiste cartridge - it's definitely a must-have cartridge! There are so many different 3D projects, cuts, phrases, and even a font set! It's a bit costly but definitely worth the investment. :)

The papers are from the CTMH Pemberley paper pack and the 3D flower was made using the Artiste cartridge. The 'thinking of you' sentiment is from my stash, I believe it was a $1 stamp at Michael's (my favorite!). The scalloped shape was cut using the Elegant Edges cartridge.

Card Creating Tuesday - Kid's Birthday

Welcome back for another Card Creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craft Room! This week's card-creating theme is all about kid's birthday cards. I think kid's birthday cards are one of the most fun types of cards to make because of the fun colors, die cuts, sentiments, and papers that can be used - who doesn't want to be a kid?

I created a girl's birthday card for this week's theme using two die cuts from the Create a Critter cartridge:

The sweet poodle is cut at 3.25" and the even sweeter cupcake is cut at 2.5"

I embossed the poodle's fur and the cupcake frosting with the D'vine Swirl embossing folder, and added a couple of white gems to the poodle's bows. The card was super fun to make and I love how delicious the background paper looks!

Card Creating Tuesday - Grad Card

Happy Tuesday! At My Cricut Craft Room, every Tuesday is Card Creating Tuesday, where design team members make a card inspired by a certain theme. This week's theme is a graduation card.

I used the Happy Graduation cartridge to cut the cap at 1.5" using glittered black cardstock. The background paper (with the silver sparkles) is from the DCWV All Dressed Up mat stack and the foreground graduation paper is from the DCWV High School mat stack. The 2012 and white base are both chipboard and I added some black glitter to the numbers to match the cap, although you can't really tell by looking at the picture. To top it off I added four black grads in each corner.
