Movie Night Blog Hop

Welcome to Red Carpet Studio's One Year Anniversary Celebration!! We're starting the party off right with a blog hop, but don't forget we also have games and prizes going on in our Facebook event group

This weekend our design team is sharing with you inspiring projects for movie nights! Invitations, decorations, and more, you'll leave the hop wanting to have a movie night of your very own.

If you've come from Red Carpet Studio, you're in the right place!

I made a movie night invitation and a popcorn container for the guests!

The popcorn container was super easy to make, its a file I found in the Silhouette store. I used solid Recollections cardstock for the stripes and label, and then adhered the Popcorn! using pop dots, and of course, filled it with popcorn. :)

The digital stamp I used on the invitation is called "Miss Hollywood," and she's from The Paper Nest Dolls. (Pssst - everyone who participates in the entire hop receives her for free in their goodie bags!) and I colored her with my Copics. I left her dress, shoes, and accessories white to mimic the classic picture of Marilyn Monroe, which this little cutie is inspired by. Papers on the invitation are from Bazzil and My Mind's Eye, and I embellished with wood veneer stars (which I then embellished with Silver Stickles), rhinestones, and enamel dots. The movie genre paper inside the invitation (where the actual invite would go) is a digital stamp from Get Inky! Stamps (which also comes in your goodie bags - yay!). I added a strip of film reel washi tape, and the 'You're Invited' was also cut with my Silhouette.

This weekend (and our challenges) wouldn't be anything without our fabulous sponsors! Those who comment on every stop of the hop are eligible to win these wonderful prizes:

Disney Classics Cricut Cartridge

12x12 Disney Specialty Paper

"That's Entertainment" Stamp Set

$20 Gift Certificate

Besties of Oz Collection - 7 Digital Stamps

Insta-Live, Love, Dream Stamp Set

And now for the part you've been waiting for... everyone who hops receives a FREE digital goodie bag! Yup, you heard that right! The contents of our goodie bag can be viewed HERE on our Facebook page. Just be sure to leave your email address when you hop and we'll have it emailed to you by the end of the weekend. :)

Winners of the sponsored prizes will be announced at Red Carpet Studio on Tuesday September 3rd.

Your next stop is Tonya's blog.

Old, New, Borrowed, & Blue Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue Blog Hop!

Wedding bells will soon be ringing as the wedding season is almost here, and the design teams of Red Carpet Studio and The Paper Nest Dolls have teamed up to provide you with some beautiful wedding inspiration by creating projects using Paper Nest Dolls digital stamps! If you've just come across the hop and would like to start at the beginning, please visit Red Carpet Studio.

Red Carpet Studio is a movie-themed challenge blog that runs weekly challenges, alternating between layout and card challenges each week. All of their challenges are inspired by either a movie or aspect of Hollywood!
The Paper Nest Dolls is a brand new digital/rubber stamp shop that sells adorable stamps inspired by the designer's children. Their stamps are sold here and they just started a challenge blog as well!

For my project I made a wedding trellis! As soon as I saw this cut in the Silhouette store a few weeks ago, I knew it would be the perfect project for this hop!

The trellis stands about 7" high and is about 5" wide, it's cut from Kraft cardstock. I distressed it a bit with some Walnut Stain Distress Ink by Tim Holtz to give it more of an aged/weathered look.

The digi is about 4" tall and colored with Copics. I used:

Tuxedo: C7, C5, C3
Skin: E00, E01, E02, R20
Hair: Y13, Y15, Y19, E25, E29
Dress: N1, 0
Flowers/Bow: B00, B02

I also added some Star Dust Stickles to her veil.

I used 3 Girl Jam crinkle ribbon (in Aqua Splash and Sterling) to drape the trellis.

I dyed the flowers blue using Broken China Distress Ink and water. After they dried I added some Diamond Stickles to both the blue and white flowers for a more "enchanted" feel.

Aerial shot.

To prop the digi up (there was a slot for the image the original cut came with, but it wouldn't work for the idea I had in mind) I used a toothpick, some tacky tape, and a glue dot to hold it up. Not the most eye-catching from behind, but certainly practical!

The Paper Nest Dolls owner and artist, Christine, is very generously providing us with some blog candy from her online stamp shop and her brick and mortar scrapbooking store! To be eligible to win you must comment on every stop of both days of the hop.

Two $20 Gift Certificates

Prima Flower Prize Pack

Hoppy Easter!

Hoppy Easter! :) What are your plans for today? We're having Easter at my house (about 20 people) and a big Easter egg hunt for the kiddos as well :) Should be a lot of fun! I made mini Easter basket place holders for dinner - I'll be sharing those later this week, they're super cute!

Anyways! Red Carpet Studio is having an Anything Goes Easter challenge this week! We'd love to see all those Easter crafts you've been working on. :) Cards, layouts, decorations, Easter baskets, all Easter projects are welcome! Verve Stamps is our sponsor this week, and they very generously provided each DT member with their Hoppy Easter stamp set! One random winner of the challenge will win a $30 gift certificate!

Here's the card I created for the challenge:

The bunny is a digital stamp from Stamp AnnieThing, colored with my Prismas before I got my Copics :) The sentiment is of course from Verve, and the papers are DCWV. I added a small twine bow using twine from The Twinery and some purple pieces of CANDi as embellishments.

The DT has some more great Easter inspiration for you, make sure to stop by RCS and check it out!

Red Carpet Studio Flower Challenge!

This week the Red Carpet Studio challenge blog is having a flower challenge! Use one or more flowers on your card for a chance to win your choice of 2 digital stamps from Saturated Canary.

I normally don't participate in RCS challenges since my DT always does such a great job of providing inspiring projects, but every once in a while I like to step out from all the behind the scenes work I do and play along. :)

Saturated Canary was generous enough to provide each DT member with their choice of an image from her shop - how sweet of Krista. :) I chose to use the "What the Librarian Reads" image - since I am a part-time librarian and thought it would be fun to color.

The paper is from one of the new My Mind's Eye "Unforgettable" collection, and the enamel dots up in the corner are part of that collection as well. The sentiment is from Whimsical Designs and the flowers are from The Paper Studio. I colored the librarian with my Copics using the following colors:

Skin: E00, E01, E02
Hair: E33, E35, E37
Shirt: N1
Skirt: BG72, BG75
Books: Y11, RV25, RV29

I'm still new to using Copics (I've only had them for about a month now and my collection is still growing!) so I definitely enjoyed challenging myself to coloring a more detailed image than the basic ones I've been practicing with. I'll get there someday! :)

Have a great day and don't forget to stop by Red Carpet Studio to see more DT inspiration for this week's flower challenge!

This hop was put together to share with you fun and creative ideas for St. Patrick's Day projects along with introduce you to our new design team members AND officially announce our March Lucky Link-Up contest!

Before we get to all that fun information, I'd like to share my project with you. I created a leprechaun-shaped card!

He was cut at 5.5" from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. I created him using the weld feature in Cricut Craft Room. Papers are DCWV and Recollections. I used Golden Rod Stickles on his hat buckle and his shirt button, which is actually a piece of white Candi.

Hope Your Birthday Is As Sweet As You!

As some of you may know I have a challenge blog called Red Carpet Studio. We launched back in September and offer alternating weekly card and layout challenges, all inspired by movies. Challenges run from Sunday through Saturday evening each week and we always have a sponsored prize and choose our top three spotlight submissions. It's a lot of fun and the design team is so talented! While I've done a LOT of behind the scenes work these past few months to help get the blog up and running, I have yet to participate in an actual challenge! I know, I know, shame on me...

Since it's the fifth week of the month which only happens a few times a year, we do an anything goes themed challenge. This week's challenge is inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Create any "sweet" project - meaning candy, cake, cookies, etc. One lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive a FREE blog makeover from Vampire Craftin! Stacy designed my blog and she does AMAZING work! Definitely a challenge worth entering. :)

My boss's birthday is this week and I decided to make her a birthday card, featuring something sweet, of course. :)

The patterned papers are from the DCWV 8 Stack paper collection and the solid turquoise and green cardstock is also by DCWV. The cupcake is cut at 2.75" from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge and the white scallop is cut at 4" from Cricut Craft Room Basics. The sentiment is computer generated.

I added some Crystal Stickles to the flower and sprinkles on the cupcake and added Turquoise Stickles around the white scallop. All papers aside from the sentiment and base cardstock are slightly distressed with blue ink. The turquoise circle is embossed with the D'vine Swirl embossing folder using my Cuttlebug.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you are having a lovely weekend and take some time to enter this week's challenge at Red Carpet Studio! We'd love to have you. :)

Movie Night Invitation

For this week's paper piecing challenge here at Made Especially For You, I decided to make an invitation to invite you all to the launch of my brand-new challenge blog, Red Carpet Studio

Red Carpet Studio is a movie-inspired challenge blog that will feature alternating card and layout challenges, all inspired by movies or aspects of Hollywood! Our first challenge starts this Sunday, September 2nd, and we'll be kicking it off with a premiere party! Those who attend the party will receive exclusive, free downloads from our sponsors, get a sneak peek at our upcoming challenges, and get to see some awesome movie projects created by the design team! The fun starts Friday August 31st and ends Sunday September 2nd with the start of the first challenge.

Using the Movie Night pattern from Scraptastical Kreations, I created this movie night invitation:

I cut the ticket using the Artiste cartridge along with the 090212 numbers, which spells out the date of the first challenge. ;) The 'You're Invited To A Movie Night' were also cut with the Artiste cartridge. The popcorn was paper pieced from the Scraptastical Kreations pattern and I used a white gel pen to faux stitch around the edges. This was my first time paper piecing and I really enjoyed it!

I hope you join us for this week's challenge and stop by the premiere party! :)

Three Color Challenge

This week's "especially three" challenge here at Made Especially For You is all about using three colors. All you have to do is create a card using three colors (white or black may be used as an accent color) for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice from our sponsor, Verve Stamps!

I decided to keep it simple for this week's challenge and only use three colors without using white or black as an accent color. The colors I chose to use were red, black, and white, and what better image to go with this color combo than a lady bug?! Or in my case.. a love bug. :)

The adorable little love bug is cut from the Create a Critter cartridge at 2.75" I believe - I can never seem to remember what sizes my images are cut at since I always cut so many, I should really start making note! I used basic red, black, and white cardstock along with a bit of patterned paper from a Recollections paper pad. The ribbon is from my stash and I stamped the 'Love' sentiment in black ink and distressed the border a bit in red, although it's hard to tell in the picture but adds a nice touch when it can be seen properly. Not sure where the brads and the flower came from but they were in my stash as well. :)

If you like Made Especially For You's challenges you may also like the challenges of my new challenge blog, Red Carpet Studio. We're looking for creative and enthusiastic cardmakers and scrapbookers to join our team!

Sorry to keep it short and sweet today, I've had to draft a LOT of posts these past few days and I think my fingers are about to fall off. Have a wonderful week!
