Wow! I can't believe it's already been three months since I started my own DT and hosting weekly challenges. Time has just flown by. As the end of the three-month design team rolled around, I was sad to hear some of the members were leaving due to other personal and crafty commitments. I thoroughly enjoyed having them on the team and will definitely see them around here in blogland. :)

Design Team Call!

Made Especially For You is looking for five enthusiastic, passionate and committed crafters that would like to be part of a design team that contributes to weekly card challenges. Card makers of all skill levels are welcome!

 As a Design Team member, you will be required to do the following:

·      Create a minimum of four cards per month to submit as a design team sample for each weekly challenge
·      Be an active participant in the design team Facebook group
·      Have an active blog
·      Post your weekly challenge creations on your blog and promote our sponsors
·      Meet challenge and posting deadlines, also comment on challenge entries

Interested applications should submit the following information by email:

·      Name and short bio

·      3 cards you have created that you feel showcase your best talent and card making style

·      Link to your blog

Please submit your application to especiallymadeblog@gmail.com. The information must be submitted by Sunday January 22^nd in order to be qualified for a position. The chosen design team members will be notified on Monday January 23^rd and announced on the blog on February 1^st. Participation will begin immediately with the first challenge occurring during the week of February 6^th – February 12^th.

Life's A Beach Card & Exciting News!

Hi everyone! I have some exciting news to share... I just became a member of the design team at Queen of my Craftroom! This is my first time being on a design team and I'm so excited and can't wait to work with a team of awesome designers! I've been participating in their challenges the past couple of weeks (they're so fun) and actually created this card for this week's challenge earlier today before finding out I was chosen to be part of the team. I guess now is the perfect time to post it! :)


The challenge: California themed project! - We all love California! let's make a project to show just how much we love it!! Sea World, San Diego Zoo, The Beach, Disneyland, San Francisco, Hollywood, anything California goes.... You do not have to have been there to make a project. Card, layout, altered project, framed picture, anything!


I decided to make a beach-themed card. I've always wanted to go to California but have never been. Hopefully one day!

To make the card I layered blue cardstock on top of sea foam green cardstock and then added the cream colored paper to look like sand. I sprinkled clear (white) glitter on top of the sand to give it some texture and then used a hot glue gun to apply the shells. I painted wood circles white and then stamped the words using individual letter stamps in violet ink. The sun embellishment came from a scrapbook kit I recently one in a blog candy giveaway.
