V's Sweet Digi Challenge

Happy August! I can't believe it's August already, this year has gone by so fast! I feel like it was just Christmas and soon I'll be getting ready to make this year's christmas cards and projects. If only I knew where the time went! The good thing about the first day of a new month is that there's a new challenge at V's Sweet Ideas!

This month's challenge is a digi challenge and is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps! Here's a bit about Bugaboo:
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of paper crafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT  for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug!

The design team was provided with a couple of digis to choose from for this month's challenge and I couldn't resist using this cute, crafty nut!

This photo has the best lighting of the three

This has got to be one of my favorite cards I've made in a while! I love the color combo and the digi just makes me smile every time I look at it. I'm also in love with the banner, I love the effect they have on cards and really need to start making more! Below is a list of the materials I used to make the card.

- Dark turquoise card stock and patterned paper from the Recollections 'Bold Basics' paper pad
- 'Craft Nut' Bugaboo digi colored with Prismacolor pencils
- Craft scissors for the borders around the digi and the sentiment
- Turquoise rhinestones
- Heart stamp with black ink
- 3 tiny chipboard Maya Road banners
- 1/8" green Ric Rac ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do! Make sure to stop by V's Sweet Ideas to see what other Bugaboo inspiration the design team has created for you!

V's Sweet Ideas 'Celebrate' Challenge

It's a special week at V's Sweet Ideas! It's Vanessa's birthday week! In honor of her birthday, we're having a special "let's celebrate" challenge starting this week.

I made a fun, celebratory birthday card for this week's special challenge. I used some fun patterned paper from Recollections along with my Cricut and Cuttlebug to make the card.

The cake is cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and I embossed the middle with the D'vine Swirl embossing folder using my cuttlebug. For an extra touch I added glitter to the candle flames and also the cake plate.

Come help us celebrate V's birthday! :)

Introducing V's Sweet Ideas Challenge Blog!

Happy Sunday! I'm excited to announce that today is the grand opening of the V's Sweet Ideas Challenge Blog! The rest of the design team ladies and I have been working hard on our projects for the first challenge. :) There's a new crafty challenge starting on the 1st of every month.

This month's challenge is to create a project with the theme of "Summer Fun." 4th of July, traveling, the beach, anything that says "summer!"

Using white Maya Road ribbon provided by V (thanks so much!), I chose to make a 4th of July card for this month's challenge:

Don't forget to see what other projects the design team ladies have created AND stop by the V's Sweet Ideas shop to take a look at some craft supplies and fabulous homemade embellishments made by Vanessa herself! :)
