Tiny Tags

Good morning! Today I'm sharing with you all a design team project I made for Two Berry Creative using their fabulous Rectangular Blank Tags! (Their Scalloped Top Blank Tags would also look great with the project I'm about to share with you!)

Over the summer I made a Christmas tag that I absolutely loved, and decided to recreate the concept, only this time, in miniature version. Here's the original post, but I'll share a picture with you as well:

And now for the tags I created using Two Berry Creative tags:

Since I find this a really cool technique, I decided to put together a mini tutorial so you can try it yourself! Here's what you'll need:

Two Berry Creative Rectangular Blank Tags
Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Forest Moss Distress Ink
Ranger Inkessentials Ink Blending Tool
Heat Gun
Embossing Ink Pad
Black Embossing Powder
Metallic Gold Embossing Powder
Small Snowflake Stamps
Sentiments of Your Choice

Keep in mind that you are more than welcome to try this technique using other colors of ink and embossing powder of your choice - these are just the colors I used. :)

Although I made both a red and a green tag, my tutorial shows the red tag being inked and at the end you'll see both tags together.

1. Gather your supplies!

2. Ink your tags! Start with the lightest color first.
(Lightest color on my green tag is Peeled Paint).

3. Then apply the medium color.
(Medium color on my green tag is Forest Moss).

4. Lastly, distress the edges with your darkest color.
(Darkest color on my green tag is also Walnut Stain).

5. Next, stamp and heat emboss your sentiment.
Sentiments are from a retired Whimsical Designs stamp set.

6. Heat emboss snowflakes wherever you desire.
Silver embossing powder would be pretty, too!

7. Add some ribbon or twine to the top of the tag, and ta da! (Two Berry Creative's Silver Metallic twine or Gold Metallic twine would be a great tag topper for these!)
Crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam

These tags are going to look fabulous on gift bags this year! You could also use this technique for other seasons as well... I'm thinking I might try a blue/wintery one in the future, as long as I remember to pick up some silver embossing powder. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays Blog Hop

Welcome to 3 Girl Jam's Happy Holidays Blog Hop!

We're so glad you can join us and sneak a peek at 3GJ's new products! If you've come from Nicole's blog, you're in the right place. If you've just come across the hop and would like to start at the beginning, please visit the 3 Girl Jam blog. :)

This weekend 3GJ is having a special on their new products!

Use the code: HOLIDAY to save $10.00 off your order of $20.00 or more when you buy one or more of the 3 new products!

You can also comment on ALL the stops for a chance to win a Ribbon Candy Crinkle Ribbon Bundle, Christmas Flair, and a Jute Ribbon Pack.

I created two projects for the hop using 3GJ's fabulous new products:

(I apologize for the shadows in my pictures - it has seriously been cloudy here ALL week and this was the best I could do with the little sunlight we had yesterday. Darn Mother Nature!)

The first project I made is a tag using the new Ribbon Candy Bundle and a super cute Christmas Flair button. I cut a tag using my Silhouette and embellished with Lawn Fawn's "Peace, Joy, Love" collection. I created a small library card pocket also using my Silhouette and included a smaller card with a sentiment.

For my second project, I created a simple card using Jute Ribbon. I cut a Christmas tree with my Silhouette, distressed the edges, and glued pearls on the tree to act as ornaments. I covered the star on the tree using Champagne Stickles. The Kraft cardstock is embossed with snowflakes, and I used a Copic clear Spica pen to add glitter to the embossed flakes. I love the subtle sparkle effect this gives the card, and think my Spica pen will be an often used tool this winter. :)

Here's the entire lineup in case you get lost along the way:

Avery's Sixth Birthday Blog Hop!

Welcome to Avery's Sixth Birthday Blog Hop! We're so glad you could join us.

Avery is one of our dolls and she has just happened to have a birthday! In honor of her sixth birthday, the design team put together a hop to share projects made with the brand new "Avery's Birthday Surprise" stamp now available in both digital and rubber!

What a fun stamp! Avery was sure excited to see it. :)

Now onto the card I created... I just love how it all came together!

I used papers from the "Dolled Up" collection by My Mind's Eye along with some Kraft cardstock for the base and Neenah cardstock for the digi. For the balloons I used a Cuttlebug die cut and cut the balloon shapes using scraps of paper from the same collection, and used twine from The Twinery as their strings.

I also added some Antique Linen crinkle ribbon by 3 Girl Jam and some star pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies as embellishments on the card. The "Happy Birthday To You" sentiment is from Whimsical Designs "Everyday Sentiments" stamp set.

And of course we have some super fun blog candy to thank those who come and hop with us!

To be eligible to win, you must comment on EVERY stop of the hop!

1 winner will receive this scrappy prize pack:

1 winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to our online shop:

And 13 winners (one from each hop stop) will win the Avery's Birthday Surprise digital stamp!

Blog hop winners will be announced at The Paper Nest Dolls blog on Tuesday June 11th.

And now for your next stop of the hop - Michele's blog!

Happy Hopping! We also hope you join us again in two weeks for our SUMMER RELEASE BLOG HOP!

You're a CUT Above the Rest!

Anyone else feeling like it's Monday?! Long weekends always throw me off! Anyways - today I'd like to share with you a card I made for a relative who gave me an unexpected graduation gift. Last weekend I graduated with two Associate's degrees (one in Art & one in Science - don't ask how - it has something to do with the way my credits worked out). And now I'm halfway to becoming a teacher! Super exciting.

Here's the card... did I mention this particular relative is a hairdresser?

I used a combination of papers - Kraft, DCWV, My Mind's Eye, and Recollections. The card is 6x5.

The scissors are cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge and then distressed with Shabby Shutters and Pumice Stone Distress Ink. The scallop is distressed in Broken China Distress Ink. I also embossed the white circle with polka dots using my Cuttlebug. The Peachy face is a combination from sets PK-573 (eyes) and PK-943 (mouth).

I cut the sentiment using my Cameo (used both my Cricut and Cameo on this card - yeah!) and used Latte crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl Jam, embellished with a few enamel dots from My Mind's Eye. I love these! The scallop is also embellished with White Opal Liquid Pearls.

Entering a few challenges!
