Don't Forget To Say Thanks

Happy Veteran's Day and 11/11! (And happy long weekend to me!) I've been quite the busy bee this long weekend, too. Friday night I went out to dinner with a few friends, which was much needed after the stressful week I had. Saturday I taught a Copic class at a local scrapbooking store, and Sunday I got a hair cut and just about finished my research paper - yay! In the midst of all that I managed to get some crafting done, and wanted to share with you a card I made for the new 'Thankful' challenge at Get Inky Stamps.

I love how this card still screams Thanksgiving but features a non-traditional color combination using papers from Echo Park's "This & That" line. The Turkey digital stamp is from SKdigis. I colored the turkey with the following Copics:

E18
E25
E29
Y21
Y26
YG67
YR07
BG18

The card also goes along with the "Let's Talk Turkey" theme at All that Stickles (my challenge/inspiration blog), so I added some Golden Rod and Cinnamon Stickles to the turkey's feathers. The sentiment is from Get Inky's Joyful Jar Drinks stamp set

P.S: Both SKdigis AND Get Inky Stamps are sponsors at All that Stickles this month, so there's some awesome prizes at stake for creating fun Thanksgiving projects using Stickles!

Have a great rest of your day!

I Only Have Eye For You!

Happy Monday! Did you all have a good weekend? Mine was super busy. Friday night I saw a movie with a friend, and Saturday I went to a retirement party for my former boss. Thankfully I was able to squeeze in a bit of crafty time!

Anyways, today I am very excited to be guest designing for SKdigis! Sonia and I have been great crafty friends for a while now, and I was thrilled when she asked me if I would like to guest designer! Her digis are so cute and fun, and match my style perfectly.

I chose to use SK's "Double Head Monster" digital stamp. Isn't he adorable?!

I started by choosing the papers of the card, which are from Authentique's "Celebration" collection, and then I colored the monster to match the paper. I used Copics R02, R05, R08, BG72, BG75, BG78, and W3. He was really fun to color!

As for embellishments, I used a few enamel dots and also some Twinery twine to make the colors in the background paper pop a bit more. The sentiment is from Get Inky's 2013 Halloween set. I thought it worked perfectly since each of the monsters only had one eye. :)

SKdigis also has a FANtastic Linky Party going on every month! Sonia provides free digis for you to work with (unless you already have some SKdigis in your digi arsenal), and then you get to link up your creations for a chance to win - how fun is that?!

Thanks so much Sonia for allowing me to be a guest designer, I had a blast working with your stamp! :)

Got Snow?

...Definitely not here in Illinois! It's FINALLY starting to feel like summer. The first half of the month was weird, we spent a lot of day's in the low 70s and it felt way more like spring then summer! Now we've got some 90 degree days in the forecast, which is much more fitting. :)

It's fun to make out of season projects sometimes, so for the new ATC (altered trading card) challenge at Whimsical Designs, I decided to make a wintery ATC:

This was my first time making an ATC, and it was a lot less intimidating than I thought it would be! The papers are from Recollections, and I added some lace, pearls, and Liquid Pearls as embellishments. The "Got Snow?" sentiment is from Whimsical's "Snow Fun" stamp set.

Here are the Copics I used to color Mr. Snowmanwho happens to be a digital stamp from our sponsor this week, SK Digis.  Sorry for the messy background in the picture, by the way! I was in the midst of making multiple projects that day. :)

Hope to see you playing along in the challenge! You could win a $6 voucher to SK Digis!
