You're A Super Star Treat Tube

Now that Father's Day is behind us, it's time to start thinking about the 4th of July! And what better way to do that than with a Red, White & Blue challenge at Whimsical Designs!

I took a treat tube and filled it with some red Starburst candy (yum) before embellishing it with a digi from Eureka Stamps that I colored with Copics, SRM Sticker borders, and a sentiment from Whimsical Designs.

I inked the edges of the sentiment with Faded Jeans Distress Ink by Tim Holtz and added some star pearls. I don't think I could have added any more star-themed things to this treat tube!

Close up of the star and the Stars & Stripes twine from The Twinery. One of my favorites!

The 'You're a Super Star' sentiment is from the Whimsical Fun - Vol. 1 stamp set. Love it!

One random challenge entry will receive their choice of five digital stamps from Eureka Stamps! Hope to see you playing along with us. :)

If you hopped through my 2 Year Blogoversary Hop this past weekend, make sure to check back tomorrow to see if you're a winner!

Happy Summer!

Today I'm super excited to be a guest designer at the Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge Blog! The challenge theme this week is "Refreshing Summer" and one lucky winner will receive a CRICUT CARTRIDGE from Cuttingbugs.com! What an awesome prize!

For my guest designer card I created a cute and simple summer card using a Peachy Keen sentiment and a cutting file from KaDoodle Bug Designs!

The polka dot paper is from Echo Park's "Sweet Day" collection, and so is the the patterned paper used to make the umbrella. The file is called 'Coconut Drink' and was a surprise freebie last week. It was too cute to not pas s up! The only thing I changed was adding a Prima flower instead of the flower that came with the cut, I wanted it to be a little more 3D. :) I also distressed the edges of the papers and adhered the drink using pop dots.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you playing along in the challenge! :)

Congrats

Happy Monday! What a crazy morning it's been so far - went for a 5 mile bike ride, finished my workout, caught up on some "housekeeping" things, and here I am! Have some more running around to do this afternoon before work this evening, but first I want to share with you a card I made for this week's Use What You Have challenge over at Sweet Stamp Shop!

This is my first time really playing along in the challenge, and I had so much fun! It's basically an anything goes challenge, as long as you use what you have in your stash and take a picture of it!

This was one of the FIRST paper pads when I first started scrapping two summers ago. I wanted some basic patterned papers to play with, and this seemed to do the trick. Now, it pretty much goes untouched since I've learned about all the different papers there are, so I thought it would be fun to pull it out for this challenge and give it some much-needed love!

I searched through my scrap stash to find the matching polka dot papers from that particular collection, and off I went!

Here's what I made! This card is inspired by a card on Pinterest I pinned a LONG time ago, so not only did I go through my physical stash, but my Pinterest stash of inspiration as well! I cut the vellum envelope using my Cameo, then used a hole punch to punch a ton of pieces of each color paper. Most went in the envelope, but others are scattered on the card to make it look like the confetti is being shaken out of the envelope. The 'Congrats' stamp is from Sweet Stamp Shop's 'Simple Sentiments' set. Wow, that was a lot of S's! Try saying that three times fast. :)

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be sure to be playing along in these challenges as much as possible. :)

Star Spangled Stickles Blog Hop!

Looking for Made Especially For You's 2 Year Blogoversary Blog Hop? Please click here. :)

Welcome to the Star Spangled Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

"Oh say can you see... by the gleam of Stickles. Oh so proudly we post, our patriotic projects" (if you sing it to the tune of Star Spangled Banner, we promise it makes sense ;)

In non-musical form: Today the All that Stickles design team has created a variety of patriotic-themed projects using our favorite sparkly embellishment - Stickles!

I made a 4th of July box that would work great as a treat or favor box!

The box itself (not including the star topper) is about 2 inches by 2 inches, which is why it would be great for a few small pieces of candy. :) It's a cut from the Silhouette store and its cut out of Recollections cardstock.  To embellish the sides of the box I used some star pearls and a "celebrate freedom!" sticker from SRM Stickers.

The top of the box slides together to form a star. For the inner star, I used dark blue cardstock and embossed it using my Cuttlebug and a polka dot embossing folder.

The patterned star paper is by The Paper Studio and the dark blue paper is the same as used on the top of the box. I distressed both layers with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink, and distressed the box itself with Fired Brick Distress Ink.

The chipboard letters I picked up at Hobby Lobby nearly two years ago, and they work great for projects like this that come around every once in a while. I embellished them with Picket Fence Distress Stickles to tone down their original brightness (although they look pretty bright in the pictures) and give them more of a distressed look.

We have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday June 19th at All that Stickles.

2 Year Blogoversary Blog Hop

Welcome to Made Especially For You's 2 Year Blogoversary Blog Hop!

If you're looking to start at the beginning of the hop, you're in the right place!

Today I've brought together some of my greatest crafty friends to celebrate my two year blogoversary! What better way to celebrate than with my most valued crafty friends. :) I'm so thankful for each and every one of them (even those not in the hop today) and am so appreciative of their kind words, support, and willingness to help out when needed. :) I wouldn't of stuck around this crazy "blogosphere" if it weren't for you guys. Thanks, everyone!

Instead of having a theme for the hop, I put together a bingo board full of some of my favorite crafty things and had the participants choose at least 3 of them and create a project.

I chose Stickles, pearls, and twine and made this cute Father's Day card to play along with this week's Peachy Keen challenge and the current linky party at All that Stickles! It's actually pretty fitting since one of the first projects I ever made and posted on my blog was a Father's Day card!

The card is actually a cut from the Silhouette store. I normally don't venture into the world of pre-cut cards since I like coming up with my own layout and style, but this one looked like it would be fun to try! The base is Kraft cardstock, and I separately cut the heart and stars on green paper to bring out some of the DCWV plaid paper I used as a frame. I used Gathered Twigs Distress Ink around the base of the Kraft, and Pumice Stone around the plaid paper. I also used Crushed Olive Distress Stickles to embellish the star that was too small for a stamp.

Aren't these faces the CUTEST?! They're from Peachy Keen's June Stamp of the Month kit, PKSC-18. I finally caved and became a SKOTM member! I'm super happy about it. :) The faces are inked in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored in the eyes with a white gel pen. I distressed the edges of the stars with Peeled Paint Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

Other embellishments on the card include Honeydew Twine from The Twinery and pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies, who happens to be one of our sponsors!

To coordinate with our bingo board, we have sponsors providing prizes to match each item listed on the board!

Sorry I Was Crabby...

...Oh if I had a dollar for every time I had to say that to someone. ;)

Happy Hump Day! Although it certainly doesn't feel like Hump Day to me, this week is flying by! It's already time for another challenge at Whimsical Designs - and this one sure is a fun one... it's all about SUMMER!

There are SO many things that I love about this card - where do I begin?! Hmm. The super cute Handsome Hermit Crab is from our sponsor this week, Fresh Brewed Designs. I colored him with copics R22, R24, and R29, and placed him on the slider portion of the card (you'll see in pictures below how he's in different places).

The polka dot paper, clip, and buttons are all from the Down by the Shore collection by Fancy Pants. This is SUCH a fun collection, and so perfect for summer projects! I'm in love with the polka dots. :)

The "Sorry I was crabby" sentiment is from the Everyday Sentiments stamp set from Whimsical Designs.

And our lovely sponsor this week, Fresh Brewed Designs, is giving one randomly chosen winner of the challenge 3 digis of their choice!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

When Life Gives You Lemons...

...grab a beer and some salt!

This is the card I created as DT inspiration for the new masculine challenge going on over at the Get Inky! Challenge Blog. Creating a masculine card usually takes me a bit longer since I don't make them too often, but as soon as I saw that awesome blue and yellow argyle paper from Recollections, the card basically created itself. :)

The beer mug is a file from the Silhouette store and is adhered to the card with pop dots. I distressed the edges of all the papers and added some pearls in the corners of the card as a final embellishment.

Hope to see you playing along in the challenge! One lucky winner will even receive a 4x6 stamp set for playing along!
