    Hello.. The walnut tree roots contain tanin. The tanin is reportedly dangerous to all nightshade plants
    (tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, etc) as well as azalea plants.
    My personal experience taught me what tanin can do to potatoes and tomatoes. My peppers did pretty well.
