Luck of the Irish Challenge

Party Time Tuesdays is back with another fun card challenge! This week's theme is "Luck of the Irish" - create a card with an Irish theme: green, gold glitter, shamrocks, etc. The Paper Nest Dolls DT is teaming up with PTT for the month of March, so I chose to create an easel card for this fun challenge.

Papers used are from Recollections and Leprechaun Owen is colored using the following Copics:

Hair: YR04, YR07, E35
Outfit: YG67, YG03, YG25
Shoes & Vest: C7, 100
Bag: Y19

I cut the shamrock and the banner using my Cameo and distressed the banner pieces with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen to match the off-white color in the background paper. I embellished the shamrock with Ivy Green Liquid Pearls and added a few rhinestones from my Stash. Super fun card to make!

Make sure to stop by PTT to see more DT inspiration for this week's lucky challenge!

Fun In The Sun

I don't know about you, but I am SO ready for summer! Winter has just dragged this year, I can't believe we had a snow storm only a few days ago. If I were Mother Nature, no snow storms would be allowed in March. :)

To help spring forward into warmer weather, I created a couple of cheerful, summery cards using the Sandcastle Avery and Sandcastle Owen images from The Paper Nest Dolls to share for my design team post on their blog today!

Copics Used:
Skin: E000, E00, E02
Hair: Y11, Y13, Y15
Swim Suit: YG03
Sand: E31
Shovel & Bucket: RV52, RV55

Copics Used:
Hair: E29, E25
Skin: E00, E01, E02
Sand: E31, E33
Clothes: YG25, Y15, Y19
Other: R24, YR07, B02, B04

Both cards were made using paper from the Echo Park 'Hello Summer' collection. I love the paper in this stack! So cute and full of fun summer colors. I also used crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl Jam on both cards.

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget we have a super fun Copic contest going on and you can still receive 20% off your entire order of digital stamps using the code "I love paper" when checking out at The Paper Nest Dolls store

Have a great weekend!

Fluttering By To Say Hi

Happy Hump Day! And boy, do I need to get over that hump this week! It's been crazy here. It's the week before spring break which means midterms. Yuck. Then an all-day staff training workshop at work on Friday, with two speakers. Double yuck. On the bright side, after all this not-so-fun stuff is over, I'll have an entire week to get crafty! :)

Whimsical Wednesday's challenge this week is "Think Spring/Easter" and use yellow and pink on your project. It definitely isn't spring yet here... we just got hit by Snow Storm Saturn yesterday! In my opinion it shouldn't be allowed to snow in March, especially not two days before my birthday. :) It's nice to think spring, at least!

This card was created using papers from the new My Mind's Eye "Unforgettable" paper collection. I love it! This is probably the closest I've ever come to making a shabby chic card, so I'm pretty proud of it. :) My style tends to be more fun/cartoonish, but every once in a while it's fun to go out on a limb and try something a bit different.

The enamel dots and the brad are from a coordinating brad set that matches the paper collection. The butterfly is cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge and embellished with Liquid Pearls. The ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam and the sentiment is from the Whimsical Fun Vol. 1 stamp set. I distressed the edges of the papers with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pumice Stone.

Make sure to stop by the blog for more DT inspiration! We also have a wonderful sponsor this week, Designs on Cloud 9! One lucky winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to their store.

Hope your week is less crazy than mine! :)

Die Cut Challenge at Party Time Tuesdays!

Today I am happy to be guest designing over at Party Time Tuesdays as part of The Paper Nest Dolls design team! We were invited to participate in PTT's March challenges since The Paper Nest Dolls is sponsoring the month of March with a $20 gift certificate! How cool is that?!

This week's challenge is to use a die cut!

I created this sweet little card using the Cupcake Avery digital image:

She is colored with Prismas and placed on a die cut from the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge. I used some 3 Girl Jam crinkle ribbon and some sunflower flatbacks as embellishments. She's a cutie for sure! Definitely one of my TPND images. :)

Don't forget you can get 20% off your entire purchase of digital images at The Paper Nest Dolls through March 31st. Just use the code "I love paper" at check out to receive the discount. :)

Hope to see you playing along!

I Love You to the Moon and Back

Happy Sunday! What are you all up to today?! I'm headed off to work here in a few minutes - I host a monthly book club for elementary school kids the first Sunday of every month and today a local children's author is attending our meeting - very exciting! Then I'll be coming home this evening and getting crafty! Should be a great day. :)

Majority (like, 90%) of the projects I create are for design teams I'm on. Between work and classes, that's really all I have time for. But somehow I've caught up lately and last night decided to make a card just for fun, and enter it in a few challenges:

When I saw the Peachy Keen Challenge this week was to use stars on a card, and then saw this week's sketch at Sketchy Friday (see below) the idea for this card came to mind and I couldn't wait to get started! This is also my first card made using my Cameo (just got it on Friday), so that's really exciting!

Here's the sketch that inspired this card:

I tweaked it a little bit, mainly because the sentiment was longer and wouldn't be able to fit on the bottom. The sentiment is from the Whimsical Designs "Whimsical Fun Vol. 1" stamp set.

The stars and moon were cut with my Cameo and then I inked the edges with Copic markers - I believe I used Y19 for the stars and B00 for the moon. The faces are of course, Peachy Keen, and I used some 3 Girl Jam ribbon in Sterling White and Trendy Twine in Stone to top it all off.

Entering this card in the following challenges:

Peachy Keen 13-9 - Create a card using stars in some way
Sketchy Friday - Use above sketch

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)

Green Linky Party at All that Stickles!

The theme for this week's linky party at All that Stickles is GREEN! And we are changing things up a bit and our linky parties will now last two weeks instead of one so that you have more time to create and link up your lovely, Stickled projects. :)

I knew most of the DT would be making St. Patrick's Day projects, so I decided to make something different. I ended up making a birthday card for one of coworkers (who's Irish - which is why the green and orange are more prominent) using Green, Orange Peel, True Blue, and Pink Stickles.

Papers are from the Cricut Celebrations collection and the balloons are cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge at 3.5 inches. I outlined each of the balloons with Stickles and added matching twine for their strings. The sentiment is from SK Digis and the black glittery ribbon is from my stash. I adhered three orange pieces of Candi and Stickled them with Orange Peel.

Make sure to stop by All that Stickles for some more "Green" inspiration!
